Into Trickster’s Spiral – A Movement Meditation

What if chaos was the medicine you didn’t know you needed?

This playlist invites you to dance with the Sacred Trickster—a universal archetype embodying mischief, disruption, and the creative spark that comes from chaos. Tricksters bend rules, cross boundaries and topple what no longer serves. They don’t break things to destroy—they break things to renew.

The Trickster reminds us that life isn’t linear or predictable; it spirals. It can be a messy playful dance. This playlist is your chance to explore that energy: to disrupt your patterns, laugh at your seriousness, and dance your way into the unexpected.

Check out this podcast from Josh at The Emerald: Trickster Jumps Sides: Disruption and the Anatomy of Culture if you want to dive in a bit deeper! That episode is what sparked this playlist to feed and honor the Trickster. Update: the playlist was originally 45mins but Trickster was hungry!

Before You Press Play

Create Your Space
Choose somewhere you feel free—your living room, a secluded corner, or even under the stars. Dim the lights, light a candle, or add something playful to the mix, like a scarf or mask. Let this space feel like a playground for your body and imagination.

Set an Intention by asking: What feels stagnant or overly rigid in my life? Where could I invite more play or unpredictability? What truth might be hiding in the chaos?

Ground Yourself
Close your eyes, take three deep breaths, and feel your feet rooting into the earth. Imagine a flicker of mischievous energy stirring in your belly, waiting to rise and move.

Dancing with the Trickster

Forget the Rules

  • Start slow. Sway, stomp, spin—let your body guide you, even if it feels strange.
  • Move toward the unexpected: let your movements surprise you.

Release into the Chaos

  • As the music builds, let your movements become untamed.
  • There’s no wrong way to move here.
  • This is your space to be as bold, messy, or wild as you want.

Find Clarity in the Play

  • As the music shifts, let your movements slow and soften. Notice what feels lighter or clearer. What have you released? What truth has emerged?

Closing the Practice

When the final notes fade, take a moment to be still. Whisper a quiet thank-you to the Trickster for anything that might have moved through you.
