KODAK PLAYSPORT Video Camera – Zx5

The KODAK PLAYSPORT Video Camera / Zx5 records full 1080p HD with a rugged design that’s shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof up to 10 ft underwater.

The Features:

  • Shockproof up to 5ft
  • Waterproof up to 10 ft. (3 m)
  • Full 1080p HD video
  • Electronic image stabilization
  • Brilliant 2.0 in. color display
  • Capture 5 megapixel HD stills (16:9)

The Teknomadics Review:

The Good: It’s small, fits in your pocket, and has easy button video recording like the iFlip but can withstand water and drops…in theory. The HD video recording is nice and sharp, and the sound quality is good.

The Bad: The image stills are not impressive, and due to its faulty design, anyone doing any real sports will have a hard time keeping this camera alive. This camera broke the first week we had it! We took it tubing down the river and when we bumped against a rock, the battery/SD-card housing popped open – letting the water pour on in! It is incredibly easy for that hatch to open, as any downward thrust can do the trick. We had high hopes for this camera, but unfortunately it was a total fail.
